ABOUT:

Birmingham-based graphic designer, focusing primarily on the design of publications and other typographically-driven printed matter, including typesetting, usually for clients in cultural sectors. 
    I am also a writer, focusing mainly (but not exclusively) on graphic design history. My debut book; Mid-Century Modern Graphic Design, was published by Batsford in May 2019. The Graphic Design Bible was published by Ilex Press in September, 2023. 
    Lecturer on the BA Graphic Design course at Birmingham City University.

The Graphic Design Bible, written and designed by Theo Inglis, was published by Ilex Press (an imprint of Hachette UK) in September, 2023. 
    Divided into concise illustrated sections, The Graphic Design Bible provides a diverse introduction to the history, theories, ideas and contexts that surround the practice of graphic design. 320 pages, hardback, 16x20cm.

Mid-Century Modern Graphic Design
Mid-Century Modern Graphic Design, written and designed by Theo Inglis. Published by Batsford in May, 2019. Hardback: 256 pages. A survey of graphic design and illustration in the post WW2 era.




Granta magazine
From 2021—2022 I was acting Senior Designer at Granta, a renowned literary magazine based in London, designing and typesetting 5 complete issues.




Through the Billboard Promised Land Without Ever Stopping
Book design for Through the Billboard Promised Land Without Ever Stopping, the only piece of narrative fiction by British artist and filmmaker Derek Jarman, published by Prototype’s House Sparrow Press imprint in 2022. 




Extending Family
Catalogue design for Extending Family (2023) a collaboration between the MA in Writing at the Royal College of Art and The Foundling Museum, London. Printed by Generation Press and typeset in Lyon by Kai Bernau.
